Lakes has several former athletes and coaches who have achieved recognition. In the Track and Cross Country Coaches Association:

Curt Corvin, Warren Logan, Joseph Gray, and Sheila Kaskie are members of the Tacoma Athletic Commission Hall of Fame. You can visit the Tacoma Sports Museum Hall of Fame here.
Curt Corvin and Joseph Gray are members of the WIAA Hall of Fame.
Coach Joe Clark is a member of the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame, as well as having recieved the Tacoma Athletic Commission: Frosty Westering Excellence in Coaching Award.
